Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister asks his Juventus teammates to step up

Crisitano Ronaldo’s sister Elma Aveiro was left less than impressed with Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri’s tactics and his teammates’ display after the Old Lady were beaten in the Coppa Italia final by an impressive Napoli.

Napoli triumphed in a tense penalty shootout after a goalless 90 minutes where Juventus struggled to carve out any clear cut chances. The loss meant that it was the first time in Cristiano Ronaldo’s illustrious career that he has lost two cup finals back-to-back with some sections criticizing the forward’s performances after the lockdown.

Ronaldo’s sibling however has leapt to his defence with a strongly worded post on social media platform Instagram.

“What more can you do? My love, you can’t do miracles on your own,” she wrote on her post

“I can’t understand how you can play like that. Anyway, keep your head up, you can’t do anymore.”

After failing to score for two games in a row, Sarri conceded that his team has not yet hit their attacking straps post the seasons’s restart after the Coronavirus enforced lockdown.

“Right now, however, we lack brilliance to make the amount of game produced dangerous and without that brilliance it becomes more difficult to beat the man, which our players are usually used to doing easily, and finding other solutions,” he told Rai.

“Two 0-0s are an unprecedented fact and I think it is characteristic of this period.”

Juventus will need to step up soon if they are to win another Serie A title. Currently leading second placed Lazio by a point, Sarri will be hoping that Cristiano Ronaldo along with his teammates will be firing on all cylinders once again as they restart their Serie A campaign on Monday
